In the present study, using Landsat (6 images), MODIS (6 images), and SEBAL method, surface albedo values were estimated for Ahar City. Also, ENVI4.8 and ArcGIS10.3 software were used for calculations. Based on the obtained results, the mean albedo during the studied years is 0.42 and 0.38, respectively, for Landsat and MODIS images. Also, in Landsat images, the minimum albedo with a numerical value of 0.02 belonged to 2021/5/29 and the maximum albedo with a value of 0.84 belonged to 2018/8/28. The highest mean albedo with a value of 0.55 belonged to 28/8/2018 and the lowest albedo with a numerical value of 0.33 belonged to 2021/5/29. In the MODIS images, the minimum albedo with a numerical value of 0.02 belonged to 220/6/2, the maximum albedo with a value of 0.77 belonged to 2018/8/28, and the highest mean albedo with a value of 0.47 belonged to 2019/6/11 and the lowest mean albedo with a numerical value of 0.28 belonged to 220/6/2. It was also found that the northern areas of Ahar City, which includes the forests of Arsbaran and where there are agricultural lands or pasture lands, have a lower albedo value, while urban and barren areas have more albedo than agricultural lands and pastures.
