Sustainable rural tourism around metropolitan areas, given that it is a small-scale form of tourism, contributes significantly to the economic, cultural, social, and physical development of villages around metropolitan areas. Given the increasing population of cities and the existence of unused natural resources in the country's villages, sustainable rural tourism has faced difficulties in recent decades in villages around metropolitan areas in Iran. Therefore, the main goal of the research is to provide solutions for sustainable rural tourism around metropolitan areas. The method of the present research is a quantitative survey type and the method of collecting information is in the form of library and field studies using questionnaires. This research is applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of its data collection method. The statistical population consists of residents and travelers of the village of Barghan, 148 people of whom were selected using purposive sampling. Content validity was used to determine the validity of the questionnaires, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine the reliability of the questionnaires, and the coefficients showed that the data collection tool has a high level of reliability. In order to examine the research hypotheses, structural equation modeling, SEM structural equation modeling method with the help of SmartPLS 3 software and SWOT analysis were used. The results showed that the tourism strengths of the village of Barghan are in the cultural tourism and ecotourism attractions, historical tourism assets, and the existence of some tourism facilities and facilities in the region. Cultural attractions include ceremonies, customs and cultural traditions, people's lifestyle, religious rituals, and food diversity. Ecotourism attractions are focused on the tourist areas of this village. The historical strengths of the village are concentrated in the Barghan Bridge or the Ilkhani Castle, and tourism facilities are related to the creation of tourist resorts, tourist complexes, and ... In the area of weaknesses, which is also extensive, it is generally in the area of economic problems such as unemployment, weakness in accommodation and catering facilities, investment problems, climatic fluctuations, etc. Tourism opportunities in the village of Barghan are the proximity of the village to other places such as Atashgah.
