In the hierarchies of changes and evolutions of art in the geography of Iran, there were always key elements such as geometric motifs that have evolved throughout history and penetrated outside Iran. In recent times, many researchers have studied and investigated the geometric motifs used in Iranian buildings to redraw them. The aim of the current research is to find out how to recreate and understand the geometric motifs used in one of the most important buildings in Iran, named Isfahan Grand Mosque. The current research seeks to answer these questions: 1- Does the drawing and formation of geometric patterns by Hankin's method, looks like the method used in the geography of Iran, which is universal, have the ability to create countless geometric patterns and preserve its tools? 2- How is the method of obtaining geometric pattern tools in both Iranian and Hankin methods? In this research, one of the most important buildings in the geography of Iran, named, Jame Mosque of Isfahan, has been used due to the wide presence of decorations and geometric motifs. Considering the wide range of geometric motifs used in this building, we choose one of the most widely used ones, that is, Shamseh 10 knots in the master and student suffah of Isfahan Jame Mosque. Knot named "Kond Sorme Dan Qanas" is randomly selected in the student's suffah and its drawing is reproduced first by radial method, then drawing other knots by Iranian method in four steps. This research is a type of historical research that has been done with descriptive, analytical and comparative methods. By analyzing and comparing the samples, it was concluded that Hankin's method does not have the comprehensiveness and ability of the Iranian method to draw geometric patterns, and out of the eight identified geometric patterns, it has the ability to draw six geometric patterns.
