The sense of place and its level in the perception of citizens expresses a special relationship between human beings and the environment to which they have a relative knowledge. In the meantime, historical contexts have a better ability to establish interaction between man and space than contemporary urban contexts, due to having structures based on social concepts. In the present study, with the aim of empirically measuring the levels of sense of place, the relationship between physical and cognitive characteristics of symbolic-historical spaces and the quality of users' perception has been investigated. Accordingly, the main question of the research is: What is the effect of physical levels and context of activities on inducing and promoting a sense of place and memory in the minds of citizens? Therefore, by descriptive-analytical method and the use of library studies and field surveys, using the tools of questionnaires and semi-structured interviews of a statistical population of 300 citizens, the Tabriz Bazaar Bridge area was evaluated in three sequences. The results indicate that the physical elements described only in physical existence do not improve the quality of the sense of place. However, as part of cultural symbols and norms, while linking one's perceptions with place, it is reminiscent of the events that took place in it. Hence by modifying the readability pattern in the city; Achieving high levels of sense of place is possible.
