Abstract:   (24 Views)
addition to many other negative consequences, have increased the concentration of salt in water and soil and over time have significantly changed the functioning of natural ecosystems, and these changes continue. It should be noted that the monitoring of land changes in a wide field of view can reveal the magnitude of changes that have occurred or are occurring. Iran Space Organization has published the latest satellite image of Lake Urmia. This satellite image of Lake Urmia, which was published by Landsat 8 satellite on December 3, 1401, clearly shows the rapid process of these changes. Based on this picture, the water area of the lake is 438 square kilometers, which is one fifth compared to last year.Along with the changes in the size of the lake, the access to underground water has accelerated. The increase in the number of unauthorized wells around the lake and the extraction of underground water has reduced the quality of underground water and finally its salinity, and the radius of these changes is getting wider every year due to the continued disregard for the depth of the disaster.Considering that the subject of the research is about the investigation of water and soil salinity and the radius of action of soil salinizing agents includes a wide range, for this reason, apart from the area of Tabriz refinery, the region and the water area of Lake Urmia have also been considered. To estimate soil salinity, satellite images related to the western region of Tabriz city, which includes phenomena such as residential (man-made), vegetation, barren soil, and agricultural land, have been used. For this reason, in order to correctly interpret satellite images at the beginning of image processing and salinity estimation, a classified map of various phenomena in the region was prepared and then the areas related to Tabriz Refinery and Urmia Lake were discussed from the perspective of satellites.
